Cunningham Children's Home
Fundraiser - “Let’s Do Lunch”
This has been an annual fundraiser since 2000.  Each year in in the spring we coordinate a lunch and the proceeds are donated to Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana.  Recently, we have planned this the same afternoon that we volunteer with "Festival of Quilts" set-up.  We schedule our group lunch at the El Toro across from Cunningham and alumnae members are asked to bring a $25 donation to the event.  The event includes lunch, chapter business meeting and a presentation from the Cunningham staff regarding needs at Cunningham Children’s Home, as well as a recap of successes over the past year. 
Service Opportunities
*December - Holiday Wrapping for Cunningham Students & Families
Usually the first or second week of December we meet at the Cunningham Spiritual Life Center to wrap gifts that have already been donated to their students and supported families.  We follow this with a dinner at a local restaurant for more social time together.
*April - Festival of Quilts Set-Up
Usually the Wednesday prior to the start of the Festival we meet at the Cunningham Spiritual Life Center and are assigned to an area to assist from 10 - 11:30am.    

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Beginning in 2009, we hosted combination walk/brunch socials, Alto Vineyard Concert socials, Sun Singer Wine Tastings, Grovestone classes, Stella & Dot parties, etc... to raise funds as a chapter for St. Jude.  Since 2013, our chapter signs up as a fundraising team for the Bloomington-Normal Event.  However, we host our fundraiser events locally.  Our primary events for 2025 to support our St. Jude Walk Team are Trivia Night and Zumbathon/Trekking exercise focused activity.  We are always looking for new ideas to combine social time together and raising funds for St. Jude.

*Trivia Night - Thursday, August 21, 2025 @ Yellow & Co in Mahomet at 7pm.  Tables of 4 for $20 with all entrance fees going to St. Jude.  The theme is "Decades".  There will also be door prize tickets options.  Click Here to register for Trivia Night.
*Zumbathon/Trekking - Sunday, October 12, 2025 @ Laura's machine shed at 2pm.  $25 Adult, $10 Student.  Option for 3 miles of walk/run, two Zumba classes or a combination walk/run with a Zumba class.  Click HERE to register for Zumbathon/Trekking for St. Jude.

Service Opportunities
Our chapter has volunteered in a variety of ways in our community.  We have collected snacks to give to the runners in for the St. Jude Champaign to Peoria Run, bagged food for the Stone Creek Food Pantry distribution, gift wrapping and set-up assistance at Cunningham Children's Home, hydration station at Illinois Marathon Weekend as well as at the St. Jude Memphis Marathon Weekend.

Supporting Delta Pi and Epsilon Gamma Collegiate Chapters
Each year we meet with the Exec Committees of Delta Pi and Epsilon Gamma to learn about their philanthropy plans for the coming year as well as Work Week needs.  In the past we have provided snacks for "Sincerely Yours" letter writting campaign for St. Jude, desserts for "Delta Desserts" for St. Jude, snacks and water for "Greeks at Bat" and griddles for DHOP for St. Jude.  We also provide snacks for the extra energy needed during Work Week.  Occassionally we have found a service project where we can serve side by side.  We are always looking for more of those opportunities.  Alumnae chapter sisters can sign up to help using our online sign-up service links.  You can find those links on our Reminders and Action Items page.
